WATCH disabled RAF veteran Sara Howarth, from Burnham-On-Crouch, compete for Team UK in wheelchair curling at the Invictus Games in Canada.
Before competing in the games, Sara says she had been "frightened" of exercising, over fears it could trigger a seizure following a ruptured brain aneurism in 2014.
Sara was left disabled and had to leave the RAF, but she says support from the Royal British Legion has “changed her life” since the aneurism.
Now 51, Sara is representing her country once again, this time as a competitor in wheelchair curling.
Speaking ahead of the games' opening ceremony yesterday (February 8), Sara told Caroline Coastal she was "nervous but excited" to be part of Team UK.
She said: "I've still got challenges, but I'm looking forward to pushing through those.
“It will totally be a gold medal moment.
“I’m looking forward to it for the whole team, because we are Team UK.”

The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event, founded by Prince Harry, for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel.
Highlights from the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 are being streamed via ITVX and YouTube.
Meanwhile, Caroline Coastal FM will keep track of Sara's progress, with regular updates on-air and online.
