Thieves steal from Maldon Cemetery – police appeal for witnesses

THIEVES broke in to Maldon Cemetery overnight and stole several pieces of landscaping equipment, Maldon District Council has said.
The council and Essex Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Monday (May 5). Items stolen include leaf blowers, hedge cutters, and angle grinders.
Essex Police has launched an appeal for information and witnesses, as it investigates the theft.
A spokesperson for Maldon District Council said: “We are asking anyone who was in the area of Maldon Cemetery on the night of May 5 to come forward with any information.
“This includes CCTV footage or anything unusual they may have seen or heard.”
Residents with relevant information are urged to contact Essex Police on 101, quoting the crime reference number SP-50227-25-4242-04.
