THE PREVIOUSLY DEFUNCT station at Langford and Ulting will be recommissioned, in plans to replace the Museum of Power's miniature railway with high-speed trains.
It comes as the government has announced an expansion of its plans for HS2, which will allow passengers to travel from Langford to Birmingham in under 60 minutes.
"I'm not sure why you'd want to," commented one government official.
"But this will see the miniature carriages at the Museum of Power replaced with 200-tonne trains which can reach speeds of up to 224 miles per hour."
Visitors wishing to enjoy the current miniature railway can do so at the Museum of Power's Transportfest on Easter Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.
The train rides are subject to a small charge of £2 per adult and £1 per child. The miniature railway closes at 3pm.
From buses to bicycles to motorbikes, horses to carts and a wide variety of cars of different ages, Transportfest promises a huge range of vehicles.
There will also be stalls selling wares and transport related exhibits and food vendors, together with transport related crafts, hunts and fun activities for children. The stage will host entertainment from singers, dancers and more.
Meanwhile, the museum's tea room, pumping engine and Astaria model village will all be open during the day.
