A Heybridge man has appeared in court and denied being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog.
Daniel Wood, 45, is charged with two counts of being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control. The reported incidents took place on Christmas Day 2025 in Heybridge and on New Year’s Eve in Fullbridge, Maldon.
Wood of Heymeads Court, Romanhurst, is also accused of three times failing to comply with a community protection notice. It stated his dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier, should be muzzled when outside his home.
He was arrested by officers from Maldon Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Wood appeared before Chelmsford magistrates on 14 January and denied all the offences.
He is next due to appear in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court for trial on 15 February 2027.
The case continues.
